We got word yesterday that the materials for the front-half reroofing project would be dropped off sometime today, and maybe they'd get a crew out here to make a start.
Just after dawn, the crew showed up. Then the materials showed up. Now, just past 1700, it seems they've finished. That was some fast work!
Between the top of the driveway being full of stuff and Joy being under the weather, we had to postpone my father's (routine) medical appointment.
The cats have been kinda freaked out all day, what with all the noise.
And! Those two Amazon packages that had spent the past month and more in limbo? Showed up today.
What didn't happen: worldnic.com didn't resume answering DNS queries.
Anyway, we now have a brand spankin' new front half of the roof, installed by a crew from an actual roofing company so we may reasonably hope that there won't be shingles blowing off. (The back half of the roof hasn't been a problem; it's well less than halfway through the promised lifetime of the shingles, and, while they may not have been properly installed there either, those shingles aren't subjected to the aerodynamic forces that the ones on the front see.)
Update: Sometime after 1900ish, NetSol finally got their nameservers working again. But it looks like ToasterCo's mail server, while now findable, may not be accepting inbound mail. Or maybe it's swamped with a multi-day backlog.
