I'm feeling a fair bit better, but still got the sniffles & sneezles and the occasional cough, so not out nor about today.
There's plenty to do around here....
Started construction of the first of a set of wide-area sprinklers (32' radius rotary popup atop a 3' mast, with a decently wide base). The concept looks right, but may call for some fixturing to get the mast reasonably vertical. Also, I'll need to make a hardware-store run for some fittings before I can complete it. And it occurs to me that the PVC-pipe base ought to be painted for sun protection.
Fixed some minor wind damage in the chickens' realm.
Thinned the tomato & artichoke seedlings.
And, well, since the ground is too soggy for playing Tonka toys today, I'm putting in some work time on the new project. If I can get a little ahead of things, that makes it easier to shoehorn in some outdoors time Monday or so.
Looks like an early phase of the project will involve RasPi and Arduino boards, whereof none are to be found these days. Good thing I have a small stash of both... I hope a classic RasPi Model B will get the job done.
Update: Turns out Arduinæ are moderately available these days. RasPis, though... fat chance. Apparently the 2021 outbreak of raspberry weevils in Wales has completely wiped out the supply.
