Just went out on this blazing hot afternoon to fetch the mail and water some potted bushes currently residing at the top of he driveway.
Something was going on at the barn. Something was moving, on the driveway and in front of the rollup door.
This was, mind you, at the sunny end of the barn, in front of the glaringly light-colored door. Not a hospitable environment for most Earth creatures.
It was a bunch of birds: swallows, or something similar. They seemed to be taking turns trying to get under the rollup door. They weren't succeeding, and just as well; swallows nesting in my barn I don't need.
No, they weren't attempting a rescue. I checked, and there was no stranded swallow in the barn cheeping for help.
