We're having the HVAC ducts cleaned.
They needed it.
It's a time-consuming process (what with the large number of ducts), and quite loud, which is not conducive to productivity, nor to much else.
But, I can't really wander off and do yard stuff. Maybe I should go read on the back deck.
Meanwhile, some of the seeds I so recently planted in the un-irrigated zone of the Victory Garden are starting to sprout. Unfortunately, so are a heck of a lot of weed seeds. This'll call for some hoe work once the intended plants are recognizable. (There are two largish patches I neglected to tag. I think one is Oregon Sugarpod II peas and the other is soybeans. The probably-soybeans are starting to come up. I planted those... Monday? That's some pretty quick results.)
Addendum: Apparently this is National Dog Bite Awareness Week. Do they have awareness weeks for cat scratches and chicken pecks?
Update: Took a long time, but they finally finished. The cats are still in hiding. (The chicks and the pigeon thought it was all good fun.)
And, today's postal parcel included a kilo of mung beans, supposedly sproutable. Guess I'll plant a patch of those, and put the remainder in the pantry.
"National Dog Bite Awareness Week"? Where did you find that out? I'm curious...

It was in the daily e-mail from the USPS, along with the usual pictures of the day's expected mail.
