Sounds like California is all set to legalize (and perhaps subsidize) abortion on demand right through the fourth trimester.
Because spiking the baby's feet and abandoning it on a hillside has always turned out well. Besides, it's hard to conduct a proper augury without finger of birth-strangled babe.
In the "where do you draw the line" department, I've occasionally suggested that a child becomes a person when it first speaks its own name (this being borrowed from some fictional primitive tribe or other, which may in turn have had some historical precedent). As an exercise, mind you, in absurdity. Just watch: this may soon become the criterion in California.
Next up will be abortion as a requirement for high school graduation. For womb-carrying students who haven't met the requirement by senior year, insemination services will be provided at minimal cost.
But when do we address the other end of life? When will the Progressives put Biden, Pelosi, Bernie, and that bunch out on an ice floe?
The world is, as Lawrence Durrell said of his little brother, mad.
Afterthought: If enough gerontocrats are put on the ice floe, maybe the demand for aborted fetal tissue will dry up?
