So, the chicken run: gonna need a fence. Like I mentioned in that last post, a 6' fence, with a door of some sort. Calls for 8' T-posts.
Tractor Supply has such posts. Home Depot has never heard of them, nor has Lowe's. How about Rural King?
Rural King has them for $6.09, in Maryville. Tractor Supply has them closer, in Seymour, but they want $7.79. Being as how I'll be needing several (TBD), and it's a long time since I had a chance to poke my head in at Rural King, it's probably worth the drive even at current gas prices.
In other randomness, I need a measuring chain. I decided (after running afoul of inconsistencies) that for future purposes, the span of trellises should be 1 rod, but acquiring, storing, and employing an actual rod (could be cut down from a 20' length of PVC pipe, I suppose) is an awkward business. So, a quarter-chain seems like a good option, maybe with the middle link painted a contrasting color in case I want to include a mid-span support.
(I don't really need a full chain for measurement purposes; for that sort of distance, it's more convenient to place a marker and use a laser rangefinder.)
