So I went looking for a flexible build surface for the Ender-6.
Officially correct size would be 290x290mm, and at that I'm a bit iffy about what to do about the clips that hold down the glass plate. (I'm assuming that the magnetic base should be stuck atop the glass plate, because otherwise the surface will end up being much too low.)
Official 290x290mm flex build surfaces intended for use with the Ender-6 do exist, but only overseas.
Readily available from Amazon, we have 235x235mm, 250x250mm, 300x300mm, and 310x310mm, plus various oblong shapes. Under about 270x270mm is too small; over 290x290mm will have overhang, which won't actually cause problems, as such, but... those clips are a problem. And cutting spring steel with tin snips seldom ends well.
Hmph. I ended up ordering a 310x310mm item on the basis of price, delivery time, and reviews. Guess I can trim the magnetic base with scissors, and the spring steel part with a cutoff wheel on the Dremel. Or maybe I remove the glass plate and the clips and raise the bed still further?
