So far today....
Curbside grocery pickup run - uneventful, though as usual the store didn't have a few of the items Joy wanted.
My father is having a new, not-quite-urgent medical issue that's probably been developing for some time but just became apparent yesterday. Seems to be more worse than better today, so (after a quick lunch) off to the drugstore at the crossroads for a curbside pickup of some products that might help. Don't want to have him sit around in Urgent Care with all the sick people if it's something we can treat at home.
There's been a puddle on the basement floor, which I'd assumed was dribblage from water creeping back up the outside of the dehumidifier drain hose instead of going down the floor drain. Nope: the floor drain is in fact backing up, and sometimes overflowing. Have a look at the exit end: once I apply the strimmer to the grass around it, it's not obviously blocked and there's a puddle there. Back to the basement: the water level has receded a bit, and it looks like the drain is clogged with some sort of ick. Poking at it with a nylon stick doesn't result in drainage. Pour in some Roebic and contemplate searching the boxes in the barn for a plumber's snake, which is maybe packed with the pipe wrenches, wherever those ended up. Or maybe I need to order one from Home Despot.
And, I had a brief conference call with the client for that project from 2013 that's trying to return to life. We agreed on a guesstimated NRE number that'll certainly cover the project at hand, and that he can give to the end customer. We'll see how that goes.
Ah, well. Off to the barn now, to search through boxes.
Update: Didn't find the snake; I think it may have been abandoned at some point in the multi-stage move, because it's easy to buy a new one after the move, innit? Anyway, I ordered a new one. Meanwhile, while the drain still looks appalling, it does seem to be keeping up with the dehumidifier now (Wednesday afternoon).
