We're having 8080 weather again, and it's not even 0930 yet.
I spent a while spraying bifenthrin around the the garage end of the house and all around the barn, then loaded up the backpack sprayer with 3 gallons of broad-spectrum herbicide and went after the pokeweed, vines, Johnson grass, and other nuisances. Got about a third of the needed herbicide spraying done (not counting whatever's needed along the back fence!), found the sprayer empty, and retreated to the air conditioning with a thoroughly soaked shirt. Soaked with sweat, that is. Not with herbicide.
Still gotta do much more strimmer work, and more spraying, and picking up rocks, and fogging the barn and garage, and... well, I don't think I'll be getting a lot of that done today. Maybe I should try to focus on some work-type work? Having lost most of three weeks to the aftermath of the Wasp Incident, I've got a lot to catch up on.
Update: Got a little more spraying done, and, later, gathered the last of the squashes and mini-pumpkins plus a couple of late melons. The garden seems to be mostly done, except for tomatoes, whereof there should be more over the next few weeks. (I need to plant out the tomatoes earlier next year, and also stagger planting of corn, beans, squash, and melons.) It's still stinkin' hot out there, and humid.
And I did manage to get in a little thinky time... on a task that should have been complete two weeks ago.
Ack. That tertiary rash is back. It seems to be at least partly heat-related. Apply cold water; gobble antihistamines.
May I inquire which herbicide you use? I need recommendations for both broad and specific apps. TYVM.

On this occasion, it would have been RM18 - short-acting, kills everything in a couple of days but you can plant immediately afterward.
I also use RM43, which is persistent - I think it claims to be effective for up to a year, but in practice the weeds around here rebound after maybe three months.
Then there's good old 2,4-D (it's legal here!) for selectively killing off broadleaf plants while leaving grass intact; often used for lawn weed control, but also good for general brush killing when you want to leave grasses alive for erosion control.
