Ordinarily, my cellphones need replacement because the non-replaceable battery is used up.
This time, after three-ish years and being dropped a few times, my phone's battery is still pretty much OK, but the selfie-cam died quite some time ago, and now the structure of the phone seems to be de-laminating: the screen and back are bulging out on one side, where they've come detached from the edge structure. Looks like they were glued in place, and the glue is failing in that area.
I suppose I could apply a bit of epoxy and clamp it back together white the epoxy sets... but I'm kind of leery of compressing anything that contains a lithium battery. Must be time to start looking around for a deal on a replacement.
Update: As noted in the subsequent post, the phone no longer communicates with answering mazes; seems the DTMF has somehow gone out of tune or something. Most reasonable quick replacement for a Moto X4 seems to be a Moto G Power; one should be here Thursday.
