So, this afternoon's project....
Walk around the garden patch's border zone, adding landscape staples to areas of the weed barrier that look fluttery in the stiff afternoon breeze. Quite a few were needed.
Organize planting stuff into a pail: marker flags, more landscape staples, narrow trowel, dibble. Also cut some 1.5'x6' strips of weed barrier fabric.
Mark off the first planting zone, for onions. Rake it, to get it more or less level. Pick out a bunch of rocks.
Plant roughly 2/3 of a gazillion onion sets. The remaining 1/3 gazillion I leave for maybe-tomorrow.
Unroll and untangle 4 ea. 75-foot, 3/4" garden hoses already equipped with quick-connects. String them together to reach from the yard hydrant down to the onion zone.
Water the onion zone.
Put all the stuff away (except the hose; that stays there for now).
I'm tired. My back is very tired.
