Something scurries out of the tall grass. Many somethings. Rodentlike, between mouse and rat in size, and short of tail.
I suppose they're voles, but shouldn't they be wearing little orange jerseys? Or have I got that wrong?

Supposedly we have outdoor coyotes, but they don't seem to be eating anything like enough of the rabbits. Have to do some serious habitat reduction, probably over the winter when things are less leafy.
