Was: thunderstorms. Now: 90s, sunny, thunderstorms three days out. They're always three days out.
Having to water the victory garden with a hose, being as how the promised thunderstorms haven't been materializing, or maybe the lightning gets real close but only a few drops of rain arrive. (Storms over the mountains have been tending to dissipate a little south of here.)
The upside: the lawn, going unwatered, isn't growing very fast. Which is a good thing, since I don't really want to spend a few hours outdoors in the heat.
Right now, with 73°F and 94% humidity out there, I'm trying to cool the garage down in anticipation of doing a bit of woodworking later; I'll be needing various custom workbenches, and it's time to build the first of them.
Update: While I can keep the garage temperature down to something vaguely reasonable (it's fairly well insulated), humidity is another problem. Bringing in 73°F morning air is all well and good, but it's coming in with 94% humidity. Putting a portable A/C unit in the garage is not practical at this point, but I've ordered a dehumidifier; that should help. Meanwhile, a sweatband should reduce the drippage.
