That freezer I ordered from Home Depot? The one I chose largely on the basis of availability sometime in the foreseeable future?
Frigidaire just called. Owing to supply issues, it's not coming on July 1st as promised. It'll be here August 19th, for sure!
Grrr. Well, at least we hadn't committed to some big order of frozen provisions... but I'd really been looking forward to stocking up the freezer over the next few weeks of Friday-morning Kroger pickups. And having a stockpile of frozen meat and veggies, which are so much better for preparing meals with than canned stuff.
Update, 31 July: Got a robovoicemail from Frigidaire. Apparently they're having inventory issues, and it's not happening August 19th either.
Seven weeks late & you bought it because of availability.... I wonder if Ace hardware sells freezers?

There are probably stores around here that sell freezers in person, but we're currently trying to stay out of stores as much as practical.
Last I looked at the Lowe's website, all the reasonable-sized freezers were either sold out or "in-store purchase only", and it appeared that none of the nearby stores had anything at all in stock, not that I went around looking in the physical stores. Home Depot claimed to have these in stock, but I think they may have meant that Frigidaire was supposed to have them in stock, and I guess freezers are like airline seats now: you never know until the last minute if you'll get the one you paid for or if it went to somebody else.
