Excellent courage our fathers bore--
None too learned, but nobly bold
Into the fight went our fathers of old.
Now? Despite all our modern learning, ignorance yet abounds... but courage seems sadly lacking, and our response, as a society, has been dominated by panic, at least among the ruling class.
(Also, I think the concept of "labor action" may have gotten inverted this year: instead of leaving their jobs in protest, workers return to their jobs in protest. Some things, on the other hand, never change; you can always find someone blaming the Jews.)
