Today's mail brings the paperwork for filing a proof of claim in PG&E's bankruptcy case.
Uh... why? Apparently these are being sent out to all current and former PG&E customers. Which seems a poor use of resources, no? How many customers are creditors, excluding (as this notice does) ordinary and customary refunds, overpayments, billing credits, or similar billing items?
And, a day or two ago, there were two notices relating to antitrust litigation involving resistors. Each had a record of my having spent some amount of money on resistors during the interval in question. Two? Well, I guess one relates to resistors I bought from Digi-Key, and the other to resistors I bought from Mouser. Or something. I haven't actually read through the documents, but if these follow the usual pattern, I'm a member of the class, I'm entitled to some fiddly amount of money, but it's below the threshold for actually receiving anything and besides my share has already been spent on postage.
