In today's Frazz, a suggestion for some upcoming movie: an autonomous vehicle chase scene.
Which, hmmm.
There's already been a radio-controlled-car chase scene, in one of the Dirty Harry movies.
Add some modern tech, and you've got a self-guided, hunter-seeker road torpedo! Just needs the ability to identify the target vehicle (as well as navigating through, and under, surrounding traffic).
Update: En route to morning walkies, I refined the road-torpedo concept into something that would make an awesome movie prop, if only I knew someone who made action-adventure movies.
On walkies, I came up with a concept for using the road-torpedo prop as the central gimmick in a tinfoil-hat video with layers of gimmickry and meta-gimmickry. But if I currently don't have time and resources to build a proof-of-concept road torpedo, I certainly don't have the time and resources to round up people and make and distribute a video.
Ergo, filed away for maybe-next-year.
Check out the movie "Runaway" with Tom Selleck, about a robot designer who flips to the dark side, so to speak.
