I find the powdered detergent to be somewhat dusty.
Have you tried using an even lower dosage of liquid detergent?

Further-reduced dosage of liquid might work, but the particular liquid I used that one time is altogether too powerfully scented.
Dust around the washing machine isn't that big a deal for me, but having "fragrance" residue on my clothes (and pillowcase) is a real problem - something commonly used for scenting detergents (and other things) just sets my sinuses right off.
In any event, I should probably be looking at fragrance-free options. And maybe septic-safe, too, if I finally manage to relocate.

Yes, you can get fragrance-free liquid detergent. It's what we use in my house.
I hate dryer sheets too. Fortunately, my wife is ok with not using them.
