Still bashing my head against the horrid LabVIEW software for the Nightmare Project.
LabVIEW's uninformative error messages don't make it any easier, of course. And telling me that a VI claims to be part of library, and that I need to disconnect it and re-add it might be more useful if (1) there were some way of learning which library it claimed to belong to, and (2) the library-adder didn't refuse to add the VI on grounds of it already being part of the project.
And this whole mess is taking on a Winchester Mystery House quality; the code was adapted from an earlier project, which was adapted from one before that, which... and a lot of outdated stuff never got removed, and there are countless dead ends, and there appear to be a couple of non-Euclidean rooms. And it appears that, somewhere along the line, a couple of VIs were copied out of a now-long-obsolete standard library, and modified.
Almost time to dig out the Yellow Pages and have a look under "Necromancers." (No, not "spiritualists"; I need someone who can raise the dead. Or at least plague them in the afterlife.)
