Have you consider doing a physical to virtual conversion and then running it as a virtual machine?

Well... a few years back, when I was first looking at virtualization, the wisdom on virtualizing existing Windows images seemed to be "don't waste your time."
I suppose things may have changed since then... but it appears that the company is dead at this point (epic rant to follow), so there's not much point in trying to revive the accounting machine.
Just in case, though, I'll leave the malware scanner running through the weekend. Overnight, it found two unauthorized bitcoin miners, which might account for some performance degradation.
