Note how our esteemed masters confront a genuine national security problem.
We have seriously leaky borders. A medium-sized terrorist army could just saunter across, disguised as itinerant farmworkers or meese*.
At this very moment, Congress is debating how best to address the issue. And what will come of this?
There'll be a promise to improve border security, someday, maybe.
Meanwhile, we'll have even further escalation of the intrusive worker-tracking system, to ensure that when the terrorists arrive here they won't be able to find legitimate employment.
Which is obviously a big help, because the ability of illegal immigrants to support themselves by honest labor is the single biggest threat to our security.
Right?
* Or possibly a giant wooden moose.
