Having woken up rather early this morning, I decided to do the extended edition of morning walkies.
Hit the trail at 0700. Pass the farm, then head uphill. Pushing myself on the uphill bit, arrive at the highest point of this loop at 0748.
All downhill from there. Dawdle, say hello to various deer, photograph assorted scenery, keep an eye open for dat bad ol' putty tat (still no sign thereof).
Return to car at 0903. I think that loop was about 7 miles total, with more hills than I'd taken on in about 2 years.
Return home by way of grocery store and ATM. Arrive home 0958, ravenous.
A couple of hours and a decent-sized lunch later, and I'm still feeling a bit buzzed. Legs still bouncy, ready for another several miles quick. Blood pressure 116/78, rate still up around 100. No sign of the pre-diabetic lethargy of the past few years... but I've got that radically overcaffeinated feeling now, when I really need to focus on the work at hand. Bzzzzzz!
Ah, well. I really don't have time for a second hike of the day. Got several high-priority work items, like this weird "how the SMEG is this interrupt routine sometimes returning in the MIDDLE???" issue, for which a workaround is now awaiting testing. And documents to study for 2 new projects, and a whoopsiedoodle to finish building for an ongoing project.
(The spelling checker doesn't like "whoopsiedoodle." Suggests "lopsidedly." Well, that's one possible meaning of whoopsiedoodle, but not when it's used as a noun, as here.)
