Did a bunch more house-cleaning. Well... I did some more packing and hauling away; Joy did a lot of pulling up old flooring, removing shelves, and so on.
Used the air hose to chase an astonishing population of dust bunnies out of the wall furnaces. Also, as of Saturday, the second furnace is once again operational (just needed a new thermocouple). Sometime this week, I'll open all windows and doors, turn off the smoke detectors, and turn both furnaces up to full blast for a while, to burn out the remaining dust. (Probably after all dust-creating activity is completed.)
And! Courtesy of Craigslist, I finished the day with a lighter garage and a heavier wallet. Still a couple of things to sell off yet, but there's definite progress on the garage-emptying front.
Seems various fire departments had a busy day, too. A bit past noon, I stepped outside to the smell of burning vegetation, a wrong-colored sky, and dim, reddish sunlight. Wildfires to the north and south, as it turns out; I don't know which was the source of this particular particulate pall.
