I mentioned the new hardware for the Italian job?
All the new functionality checks out, except that I haven't yet tested the Ethernet in gigabit mode (only have 100Mbit at the workbench). Gigabit is a bonus feature anyway; the product spec calls for 100Mbit, in which mode it's working fine.
Just one known issue... somehow, in checking over the revised design, I (and the client's techie who also reviewed it) managed to overlook an old issue*, perhaps because it was on a page of the schematic on which nothing had changed. So, there are two pesky patch wires on the board. OK for a prototype, and easily fixed in a the production version, but still: had I reviewed all the pages (or maintained a need-to-change list in a separate document), this would have been perfect.
Anyway, negative on smoke and positive on function. Still a few boundary conditions that need testing, as well as the gigabit test, but it's good enough for software development and in-house testing, at least.
* Not, mind you, The Old Issue.
