Latest talking point making the rounds is some variation of: Trump (or anyone who supports him) has no room to criticize Assad's use of chemical weapons on his own people, because he's trying to restrict travel to the U.S. from Syria.
Because... if Trump really cared about the people of Syria, he'd bring them all here where it's safe.
And, I guess, worry about sorting out all the members of all the terrorist factions later. Or just give them all a convenient common enemy. Yeah, that sounds like a plan.
Additional: Looking to those on the Right who are making principled arguments against the recent missile strike, this should be a reminder that the War Powers Act is unconstitutional for exactly the opposite of the reason asserted by each of the last several Presidents. Congress has improperly granted the President the power to start a war and ask permission, after the fact, to continue it. It doesn't improperly restrict the President's authority to start a war, because the President has no such authority.
