Where did the weekend go?
Uncharacteristically, I didn't head out to the coast today in search of elephant seals. Didn't go searching for any Superb Owls, either, nor any other sort of owls.
I did spend a moment watching Huckleberry and Top Hat playing metric football; they do seem to enjoy kicking that little blinky ball back and forth.
Speaking of the kittens, Feral Ol' Mom is still hanging around; I saw her scampering away from my patio when I took out the garbage. Meanwhile, Feral Ol' Mom's Smell is still hanging around in my car. I may have to take it to a car wash, for a thorough interior cleaning.
Yesterday evening, the kittens had the opportunity to play with a hyperactive, grabby 6-year-old girl. Southmoon and Top Hat declined the opportunity; Huckleberry put up with the attention, though he didn't exactly seem happy about it.
Today, they're back to normal, and they've been exploring further back in the house. They even came in and wandered around my office for a while, and Piggy did nothing to stop them. Apprently she's concluded that they're not going away, and that she's just going to have to tolerate them.
Monday afternoon update: drenching the interior of the car with Lysol this morning banished the Feral Ol' Mom smell. Now the car stinks of Lysol. Which, I guess, is an improvement of sorts.
