Took the '02 Prius in for much-overdue scheduled maintenance this morning.
Apart from the major-service-interval cost... at not quite 180K miles, it already needs its second water-pump transplant and new rear struts. There goes the sofa-cushion money I had earmarked for some year-end CAPEX!
Further, the little battery failed its load test and probably ought to be replaced Soon. Dealer price is $275 installed, for that little sucker. I'm sure I can find something a bunch cheaper that'll fit in that space, and install it myself.
On the other hand... 180K with no brake jobs, transmission rebuilds, fuel leaks, nor failures requiring towing... it's not so bad.
